Terting Instrumental in Developmental Testing Program for the Golf24
Volkswagen Motorsport continued its preparation for the 2011 24 Hours Nürburgring event with a 3-day-test recently at the Nürburgring circuit, also known as “Green Hell” to its participants. The main focus was on the setup of the 440 HP Golf, as well as the testing of different components—including suspension analysis.
Peter Terting and Nicki Thiim alternated behind the steering wheel of the brand new all-wheel-driver, on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (north loop). They logged numerous testing miles before the team headed to Portiamo, Portugal to continue its rigorous testing program.
Terting and his Volkswagen team are off to a great start developing the new car, as well as demonstrating exemplary on-track performance, as evidenced by their results at the Nürburgring Nordschleife during the 58th ADAC Westfalenfahrt on April 2nd—a grueling four hour endurance feature.
In the competitive SP3T class, Terting and teammate, Maik Rosenberg, took home the Class Victory in their LMS Scirocco and the result lists showed them finishing 14th overall in a field of 114 classified cars.
Volkswagen will enter the ADC Zurich 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring (25th/26th June) with the spectacular Golf24. Until then, the team will participate at several races of the VLN Endurance Championship.
